Irene Taylor, 96, of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at her home.

Born August 4, 1922 in Trenton, NJ, Irene lived in Frenchtown for the past 60 years. She was a member of the St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church in Milford, NJ. Irene was an avid bingo player, loved her flowers, and gardening. She enjoyed sewing, clothes shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Daughter of the late John and Catherine (Murphy) Friday, Irene is survived by her daughter Shirley Trout of Frenchtown, NJ, her son Richard Taylor and his wife Elaine of Holland Township, NJ, nine grandchildren, as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Irene is predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Harry Taylor, as well as her sons Harry Taylor, Jr., Charles Taylor, and Robert Taylor, her daughter Helen Silverthorn, her brother John Friday, and her sister Katherine Rapagna.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 7-9 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church in Milford, NJ. Interment will follow at the Frenchtown Cemetery in Frenchtown, NJ.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edwards the Confessor R.C. Church, 61 Mill Street, Milford, NJ 08848 or Hunterdon Hospice Inc., 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
