Joyce Fleming

Joyce Fleming, 79, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, at her home.

Born April 23, 1940 in Quakertown, NJ, Joyce was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, settling in Alexandria Township, NJ, in 1975. Joyce worked as a machinist at Tung-Sol in Washington, NJ, and Bemis Bag in Flemington, NJ. She was an all-around homemaker. Joyce enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and making home woodworking decorations for family members. She was an avid gardener who would plant, harvest, and can her vegetables. Joyce was well-known for taking care of her beautiful flowers.

Daughter of the late Carmen and Grace (Nice) Bishop, Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Luther Fleming, Jr., her son Carmen Bishop and his wife Christy of Addison, NY, her brother Robert Bishop and his wife Patricia of Somerville, NJ, her two sisters Marion Hummer of Easton, PA, and Carlene Snyder of Flemington, NJ, as well as by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Joyce is predeceased by her daughter Karen Fleming, her four brothers Clarence Bishop, Carmen Bishop, Jr., Thomas Bishop, and Donald Bishop, and her sister Eleanor Bishop.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 6-8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will immediately follow at 8 PM, with Pastor Dale Ingraham officiating. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon Cancer Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
