Gary A. Hylton

Gary Arnel Hylton, 62, of Milford, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born September 5, 1957 in Beckley, WV, Gary lived in Piscataway, NJ and Flemington, NJ before moving to Milford, NJ over twenty years ago. He graduated from Piscataway High School. Gary worked as a site supervisor for GMP Contracting LLC. in South Plainfield, NJ for seven years. Prior to that, he worked for Nick Porchetta Contracting in Middlesex, NJ for thirteen years. Gary enjoyed NASCAR racing, the NY Giants, boating, fishing, camping, shooting pool, thunderstorms, music concerts, gardening, cooking, barbequing, time on the Delaware River, Wildwood NJ and Beckley WVa, to name a few. He was a social member of the American Legion Fidelity Post 113 in Frenchtown, NJ.

Son of the late James and Shelva (Meadows) Hylton, Gary is survived by his wife Betty L. (Seitz) Hylton, his two daughters Rachel McKee and her husband Freddy of Levittown, PA and Lisa Lamothe and her husband Rick of Northborough, MA, and his brother Jamie Hylton. He was predeceased by his sister Beverly Meadows.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the American Legion Fidelity Post 113 in Frenchtown, NJ, on February 29th with services starting at 2pm within the upstairs banquet hall. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the memorial fund in Gary Hylton’s name at St. Jude Hospital, via the following link. Gary started donating regularly to St. Jude hospital in 2012 when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. During this time he encountered children in the cancer center and wanted to support the efforts of St. Jude hospital
