Wilson P. Haines, Jr.

Wilson P. Haines, Jr., 93, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at HCR ManorCare in Bethlehem, PA.

Born April 5, 1927 in Irvington, NJ, Wilson lived in Westfield, NJ and spent most of his life living in Raritan Township, NJ. He served as a Fireman Second Class in the US Navy and was a veteran of World War II, where he had been stationed in Guam. Wilson worked as a business loan officer at Somerset Trust Co. in Somerville, NJ, and a business developer at People's Bank in Flemington, NJ. He was a member of the Exchange Club in Flemington, NJ. Wilson enjoyed weekly trips to the casinos in Atlantic City, NJ, as well as hosting Friday evening poker games.

Son of the late Wilson P. and Margaret (Benz) Haines, Sr., Wilson is survived by his daughter Margaret Pasqua and her husband Michael of Holland Township, NJ, his grandchildren Audrey LaBar of Downington, PA, and Luke LaBar and his wife Kate of Lopatcong Township, NJ, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Audrey (Monte) Haines in 2003, his brother Robert Haines, and his sister Margaret Haines.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 11 AM at the funeral home with Ruthann Disotell officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosemont Cemetery.

I had the pleasure of dining with Wilson many times during my temporary stay at the care facility. He was a wonderful gentlemen with a true zest for life. I am so sorry to hear of his death. My sincerest sympathy to his entire family and many friends.
