Alma C. Gelegonya Obituary

Alma C. Gelegonya, 85, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Monday January 18, 2010 at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA

Born December 28, 1924 in Kingwood Township, NJ, Alma lived in Kingwood before moving to Holland Township over 30 years ago. She had worked at the Plessey Corp. in Frenchtown and prior to that at Kingwood Venetian Blinds. She was also a homemaker. Alma was a long time member of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church. She had many hobbies including gardening, baking, crocheting, traveling and she was an animal lover. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Daughter of the late George and Katie Bacorn Opdyke, Alma is survived by her husband Frank Gelegonya, Sr., son Gabriel Richard Dick Nagy and his wife Carole of Frenchtown, NJ, two grandsons Michael and Brian Nagy and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters Bertha Tinsman, Marion Hewitt, and Blanche Gingerella.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 23, 2010 at 2 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ, with Pastor Patrick Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 1 2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Frenchtown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milford-Holland Rescue Squad, PO Box 251, Milford, NJ 08848.
