Archie Tucker, Jr., 88, of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away on Tuesday November 1, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, in Salisbury Township, PA.
Born October 28, 1923 in Frenchtown, NJ, he was a lifelong resident there. He graduated from Frenchtown High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He worked for Visqueen Corporation in Flemington, NJ for over 20 years. Prior to that he worked as a metal worker and a locksmith, in addition to having other jobs.
Archie was a dedicated member of the Cherryville Baptist Church in Flemington, NJ. He was also a member of the American Legion Fidelity Post #113 in Frenchtown, NJ; he built and maintained the Legions Memorial Day flower boat. He was a former member of the Frenchtown Town Council and the Frenchtown Board of Education.
Son of the late Archie Tucker, Sr. and the late Myrtie Cooley Tucker, Archie is survived by his beloved daughter Valerie D. Cipoletti and her husband Richard of Allentown, PA., his sister Grace Opdycke of Port Angeles, WA, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Pearl Ruth Stull Tucker (1973) and his second wife Marie Brown (2006), and his two sisters Thelma and Virginia.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 12, 2011 at 11 AM at the Cherryville Baptist Church, 594 Cherryville Road, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment will be private in Frenchtown Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
