Bernadette H. Seipel Obituary


Bernadette H. Seipel, 97, of Holland Township NJ, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at her home.


Born April 11, 1927 in Attica, NY, Bernadette lived in Williamsville, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, NY.  She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Elementary School,  Williamsville High School. and went on to business school upon graduation.  Once she married, she moved to Closter, NJ, where she lived until moving to Holland Township, NJ ten years ago.  Bernadette was a homemaker. At one time, she worked for Scholastic Magazines in Englewood Cliffs, NJ for six years.  Bernadette enjoyed crafts, sewing and puzzles.  She was a member of St. Mary R.C. Church in Alpha, NJ . Prior to that, she was a member of the St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Closter, NJ for over 50 years.


Daughter of the late George P. and Olive Adelaide (Posthumus) Schultz, Bernadette is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Murphy (Andy), Susan Rodwick (Dale) and Dorothy Bartkiewicz, her four grandchildren Jaime, Amy, Christopher and Elizabeth, and her 8 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews,  She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph R. Seipel in 1997, her four brothers Paul, George, Carl and Donald Schultz, her two sisters Thelma Ess and Jeanne Krebs, her great granddaughter Katelyn Roker, and son-in-law Richard Bartkiewicz.


A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10AM at St. Mary R.C. Church, 830 5th Avenue, Alpha, NJ.  Interment will be held privately at the George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.  Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
