Betty Ruth DiMaggio, 84, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Sunday November 27, 2011 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born September 30, 1927 in Milford, NJ, Betty lived in Milford before moving to Holland Township in 1965. She worked at the Lipton Tea Co. in Flemington, NJ for fifteen years before retiring in 1988. Prior to that, she worked at the Del Val Market in Milford and Thrift Drug Store in Phillipsburg, NJ. Betty was also an interior decorators assistant and drove a school bus for Kingwood Township. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and stamping up. She will be dearly missed by her beloved family.

Daughter of the late William D. and Adaline Williams Blessing, Betty is survived by her companion of many years, Earl Mitchell, her children Richard J. of Greenwood, Arkansas, Jo A. Patterson of Belvidere, NJ and James R. of Desert Hot Springs, California, brothers David Blessing and his wife Mary of Coopersburg, PA and James Blessing and his wife Joan of Boulder, Colorado, her sister Eileen Thorpe and her husband Fred of Milford, NJ, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Bruce W. DiMaggio and a brother Walter Blessing.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 10, 2011 at 1 PM at the First United Church of Christ, Church St., Milford, NJ. Interment will be private in Milford Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
