Daniel E. Klingler

Daniel E. Klingler, 77, of New Hope, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Born on September 29, 1948, in Sharon, PA, Daniel was the son of the late Charles Roger and Mary Josephine (Lee) Klingler. Throughout his life, Daniel was known for his keen intellect, unwavering faith, generous spirit, and deep devotion to his family.

Daniel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and later a Ph.D. in Psychometrics from the University of Colorado Boulder. He began his professional career teaching Biostatistics and conducting early research in medical informatics at the University of Utah College of Medicine. In 1977, he moved to Princeton, NJ, where he served as a statistician and program director at Educational Testing Service before becoming a management consultant and technical analyst with Mathematica, Inc.

Daniel went on to build a distinguished career as a leader in global pharmaceutical information systems, serving with Johnson & Johnson from 1981 to 1992, Hoffmann-La Roche from 1992 to 1998, and Bristol-Myers Squibb from 1998 until his retirement in 2004. Throughout his career, he was respected for his analytical mind, innovative thinking, and ability to use technology and information systems to advance healthcare and medical research.

A devoted Catholic, Daniel's faith guided him throughout his life. He was an active member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Pennington, NJ, and later St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Tucson, AZ, where he shared his love of music as a member of the church choirs. He found strength in prayer and often reflected on the words of the Serenity Prayer and Isaiah 41:10, a favorite scripture passage that reminded him to place his trust in God. His personal motto, "Be not afraid," reflected the courage, optimism, and grace with which he approached life.

Daniel was passionate about lifelong learning, reading, music, hiking, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed traveling and exploring the world with his family. Among his favorite destinations were Switzerland, Japan, and London, while the landscapes of Colorado and Arizona held a special place in his heart. Whether walking a mountain trail, enjoying a concert, or sharing a conversation with loved ones, Daniel found joy in both life's grand adventures and its simple pleasures.

Committed to helping others, Daniel volunteered his time recording newspapers and books for individuals with visual impairments through the New Jersey Library for the Blind in Trenton, NJ, and Sun Sounds of Arizona in Tucson. Through these efforts, he brought information, entertainment, and companionship to countless listeners, embodying his lifelong commitment to service and compassion.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Peggy Ann (Quinlan) Klingler; his daughters, Lauren Klingler and her husband, John Tynan, of Queens, NY, and Brenna Klingler of Los Angeles, CA; his brothers, Stephen Klingler, Michael Klingler, Gregory Klingler, and James Klingler; his sisters, Kathleen Klingler, Mary Walter, and Patricia Keith; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Daniel will be remembered for his brilliant mind, steadfast faith, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through his work, his service, his music, and his example of a life lived with purpose, curiosity, and courage.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A Catholic Prayer Service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Deacon Moore Hank. Interment will follow at Riegelsville Union Cemetery in Riegelsville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation or Sun Sounds of Arizona, causes that were meaningful to Daniel and reflective of his desire to improve the lives of others.
