Earl B. Piell, 90, of Bangor, PA, formerly of Pittstown, NJ, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Country Meadows Nursing Center in Bethlehem, PA. 

Born July 1,1934 in Pittstown, NJ, Earl was the son of the late Chester and Ruth (Butler) Piell. Earl is survived by his daughter Donna Rumbold and her husband Jeffrey of Bangor, PA, his two sons David E. Piell of North Haledon, NJ, and Fredrick C. Piell and his wife Katherine of Allentown, NJ, and his seven grandchildren. Earl is also survived by his sisters Erma Bodine and Grace Kocher. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis M. Piell in 2014. 

Earl was born and lived in Pittstown, NJ for many years, he then moved to Meyerstown, PA in 1991 where he resided for 20 years before moving to Bangor, PA in 2014.  He graduated the Frenchtown High School in 1952 and he always looked forward to the annual class reunions held in October. 

Earl loved farming and his farm in Pittstown.  He attributed the longevity of health and happiness in his life to his love for his family and having been a proud farmer all his life.  Earl was a long time member and past President of the Quakertown Volunteer Fire Company.  He and his beloved wife Phyllis met at the fire house in May of 1960 and the two married on April 6, 1961.  In addition to farming, Earl’s interests included talking with family and friends on the phone and he enjoyed reading the newspaper.  He was an avid New York Mets and Dallas Cowboys fan.  Earl always felt that he had a happy life and he was the luckiest man alive.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 10AM to 11AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ.  A funeral service will follow at 11AM, with Rev. William “Tex” Culton officiating.  Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown, NJ.
