Earl H. "Duffy" Schaible Obituary

Earl H. Duffy Schaible, 90, passed away on Wednesday June 22, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Upper Black Eddy, PA.

Born October 26, 1920 in Ulherstown, PA, Earl resided for most of his life in Upper Black Eddy, PA. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Earl was self-employed as a carpenter and mason. He built many homes in the Bucks County area. Duffy was a member of the American Legion Post 113 in Frenchtown, NJ. He enjoyed playing guitar, accordion and the harmonica. He loved music and his pets. He loved his children and grandchildren with all of his heart and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Son of the late Lenard and Lena (Trouts) Schaible, Earl is survived by a son, Earl D. Schaible and his wife Margaret ; daughters, Beth Ann Schumacher and husband Eric and Dorothy Whaley and husband Floyd all of Upper Black Eddy, PA.; sisters, Alma Miller of Lewistown, PA. and Leona Sassaman of Upper Black Eddy, PA. Seven Grandchildren, Tiffani Schaible, Eric Schumacher, Brittani Schaible, Joshua Schumacher, Matthew Schaible, Samuel Whaley and Sallie Jean Whaley, three Step-Grandchildren Steven Lownes, Nichole Lownes and Dylan Slack and his Great Grandson Colin Himes. He was predeceased by brothers Percy, Leonard and Edward Schaible and his sisters; Helen Ridge, Alice Cochran, Verna Fleming and Mable Durnan..

A Celebration of Duffys life will be held on July 2, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Bridgeton Athletic Association in Upper Black Eddy, PA. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
