Edgar "Tom" Schweder Obituary

Edgar Thomas “Tom” Schweder, 79, of Erwinna (Tinicum Township), PA, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Neshaminy Manor in Warrington, PA.


Born December 8, 1945 in Tyler, TX, Tom lived in Chicago, IL and New York City before moving to Erwinna, PA in 2002. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Chicago. Tom worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years, working on some major landmark buildings in New York City. He was also the owner of the Indian Rock Inn, a historic restaurant in Upper Black Eddy, PA. In Tom’s early years, he worked for the Department of Aging in NYC where he helped develop transportation systems for the elderly. Tom was an avid fan of Science and Science Fiction, especially Star Trek. He enjoyed classical music and he was an amazing cook.


Son of the late Edgar Karl and Margaret (Hahn) Schweder, Tom is survived by his beloved wife Beverly Pieren, his son Alexander Schweder and his wife Karina of Brooklyn, NY, his daughter Amanda Guyer and her husband Nate of Davis, CA, his sister Gayle, his two grandchildren Hannah and Owen, and his devoted dog, Ollie. He was predeceased by his four beloved dogs, Itchy, Ruby, Stormy, and Ginger.


A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
