Edna C. Vallis Obituary

Edna C. Vallis, 96, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Sunday July 25, 2010 at her home.

Born March 25, 1914 in Boston, Mass., Edna lived in Mountainside and Brick NJ before moving to Holland Township over 20 years ago. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother and Grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Edna and her husband enjoyed many years boating and traveling and had taken their boat up and down the east coast. She attended the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bridge player and had played in many bridge clubs. She will be dearly missed.

Daughter of the late William and Kay Clark Martin, Ednas beloved husband, Matthew Vallis passed away in 2007. She is survived by two daughters Dorothy Barton of Lawrenceville, GA and Barbara Penyak and her husband William of Holland Township, NJ, her brother William Martin of Mass., six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Charles and George, sisters Pearl, Helen and June and her son-in-law Hal Barton.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 29, 2010 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ with Pastor Patrick Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Milford Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 7 -9 PM and Thursday from 10 11 AM, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mid Jersey Chapter, 28 Kennedy Blvd., East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
