Elaine J. Malanga Obituary

Elaine J. Malanga (nee Williams) 92, passed away on March 25, 2025.


Elaine spent her early years in Scotch Plains, NJ before marrying Alfonso Malanga. She and her husband resided in North Plainfield and moved to Hunterdon County, NJ in the early seventies. Elaine was an advocate for fitness and taught aerobics classes for the Healthy Bones Senior Fitness Program for many years. Additionally, she was an avid runner and participated in competitive 5K and 10K runs throughout the tri-state area. She was recognized as the Hunterdon County Fitness Woman of the Year and was a member of the Happy Tappers tap dancing troupe of Hunterdon County.


Elaine is survived by her sons Michael and Peter; her son David passed away on August 7, 2024, and daughters-in-law Leslie Gillen-Malanga and Daria Malanga, grandchildren Elise, Joseph, David, Gregory, Dillon, Alana and Gillen, and ten great-grandchildren.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 10 AM at the St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church, 61 Mill Street, Milford, NJ. Interment will be held privately, at a later date, at the St. Michael’s Cemetery in Penn Yan, NY.
