Elizabeth M. Polgar Obituary

Elizabeth M. Polgar, 91, of Highland Park, NJ passed away on Friday October 12, 2012 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born August 12, 1921 in Baptistown (Kingwood Township), NJ, Elizabeth lived in Highland Park for many years. She graduated valedictorian from Frenchtown High School. She was a homemaker and had worked as a legal secretary at one time. Elizabeth was a religious woman, and she enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading.

Elizabeth was a founding member of Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church in Baptistown, NJ and a member of St. Pauls R.C. Church in Highland Park.

Daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Kubic Gombosi, Elizabeths beloved husband, Theodore C. Polgar passed away in 1988. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Dougherty of Delaware Township, NJ, two sons Ted Polgar of Rutland, VT and Richard Polgar of Oneonta, NY, two brothers Emil and Elmer Gombosi, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, William, Louis and Julius Gombosi.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth will be on Tuesday October 16, 2012 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church, Rt. 519, Baptistown, NJ 08803. Interment will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Alpha, NJ. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
