Erika Elizabeth Peters, 86, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Friday May 10, 2013 at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA.

Born August 13, 1926 in Dresden, Germany, Erika lived in Bridgewater, NJ before moving to Holland Township in 1982. She graduated from Raritan Valley Community College School of Nursing, later in life, and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Lyons V.A. Hospital and was also a homemaker. Erika was very active and was a long time member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Riegelsville, PA. She was also a member of the Holland Township Seniors, where she taught the exercise class Healthy Bones, the Frenchtown-Milford V.F.W. Post 7857 Ladies Auxiliary and the Milford Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Holland Township Bowlers and she was a volunteer driver for Hunterdon Meals on Wheels. Erika enjoyed reading, gardening, crafts, singing in the church choir, bible study and spending time with her family.

Daughter of the late Rudolph Erhardt Schneider and Elizabeth Anna Lehmanm Schneider, Erika is survived by her son Richard R. Peters and his wife Nancy of Holland Township, NJ, her daughter Karen M. Kaiser and her husband Mark of Three Bridges, NJ and five grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Courtney, Olivia and Erik. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert Christian Peters (1993), her son Erick Peters (1980) and her daughter Christine White-Peters (1987).

A visitation / viewing will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2013 from 6 9 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. A memorial service and luncheon will be held on Friday May 17, 2013 beginning at 11 AM at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 305 Delaware Rd., Riegelsville, PA with Pastor Deborah Dawson officiating. Interment will be private at the New Cemetery, Somerville, NJ.
