Etta Mae Schwartz, 68, of Upper Black Eddy, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday Nov. 20, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer.
Born May 21, 1942 in Susquehanna, PA, Etta Mae lived in Perry, NJ before moving to Upper Black Eddy 42 years ago. She worked as a cafeteria worker for the Palisades School District for 20 years and was a homemaker. She was a loving wife and mother and cherished spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was an artist and enjoyed painting and drawing and she collected antiques. She was a member of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church in Ottsville, PA and was a member of the Alter Rosary Society.
Daughter of the late Arthur and Etta Mae Slater Hobbs, Etta Mae is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gerald Schwartz, her daughters Johanna Davis and her husband Andy of Upper Black Eddy, PA, Marcia Stastny and her husband Brian of Alpha, NJ and Marietta Wolek and her husband James of Bloombury, NJ, her grandchildren Lindsey, Dylan and Shelby Davis and Annaliese Stastny, her siblings Arthur Hobbs, Betty Zaskoda, Frank Hobbs and Jean Halversen and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday December 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 4050 Durham Rd. (Rt. 412), Ottsville, PA. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Lukes Hospice, 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200, Bethlehem , PA 18017.
