Florence C. Anderson Moss, 94, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Wednesday April 18, 2012 at St. Lukes Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born July 22, 1917 in Rahway, NJ, Florence lived in Holland Township for many years. She graduated from Rahway High School, Muhlenberg Nursing School and Hahnemann Hospitals Physician Assistant Program. She retired as the industrial nurse at Riegel Paper Corp. in Milford, NJ. Florence loved singing. She was a member of the former Riegel Ridge Chorus and performed in their productions of Oklahoma and Brigadoon. She was a church choir member since her high school days and loved being in the choir at the First United Church of Christ in Milford, NJ. She had also served as the organist at the former Westfield Presbyterian Chapel and at the Milford Presbyterian Church. Florence was an avid reader and read the Bible daily. She was devout in her faith and shared her passion as a Sunday School teacher and as a role model to her family. She also liked to sew, to knit and to cook. She enjoyed playing Bridge and board games and belonged to several Bridge groups. She was a member of the Riegel Ridge Seniors and was director of the Kitchenaires Band.

Daughter of the late Herbert and Florence Bedman, Florence is survived by her beloved daughter Lois McKay of Holland Township, NJ, two step daughters Judy Buckley of Indianapolis, IN and Joan Meeker of New York City, son in law Roger Schwabe of Lakeland, FL, three grandchildren Roger Schwabe, Jr. and his wife Krista and Kevin Schwabe, all of Lakeland, FL and Marianne McKay Baehr of Holland Township, NJ and four great grandchildren Greg, Miranda, Brian and Noah. Florence was predeceased by her first husband Bernt Anderson, her second husband Lamar Moss and her daughter Sally Schwabe.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 28, 2012 at 12 noon at the First United Church of Christ, Church St., Milford, NJ 08848. Interment will be private in Milford Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
