Francis Frank William Roe, Ph.D., of Milford, NJ, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Saturday October 29, 2011 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township,NJ.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Frank lived in Central New Jersey for 20 years, before moving to Milford eight years ago. Frank was a life long scholar. He earned his B.S. degree from St. Marys College in Minnesota in 1948, his M.Ed. from St. Louis University in 1952 and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Mississippi in 1977.
Frank taught at many high schools and colleges throughout the country. Some of the places he taught included, The University of the Virgin Islands, Sylvan Learning Centers, North Plainfield School District in N.J., Plainfield School District in N.J., and several elementary and middle schools throughout Hunterdon County, NJ including teaching special education students. He most recently worked with PESI, Professional Educational Services, Inc. in Cranford, NJ. As a life long educator, Frank bettered the life of many students and children through teaching and research.
Frank was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, the American Assoc. for the Advancement of Science and a co-founder of Save our Strays, Inc in 1992. He loved teaching, traveling and was an avid reader.
Son of the late Charles Thomas Roe, MD and the late Margaret Mulvale Roe, Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Valerie Katherine Roe. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Helen Bozic, a cousin Celestine (Bill) Schuster and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services for Frank will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
