Frank Gelegonya, Sr., 93, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Tuesday April 6, 2010 at Clare Bridge of Dublin in Dublin, PA.

Born July 6, 1916 in Seward, PA, Frank lived in Frenchtown, NJ before living in Holland Township, NJ for many years. He started working in the coal mines of Barrackville, West Virginia when he was 16 yrs. old, where he worked for 17 years. He left West Virginia in 1949 and then worked for the Riegel Paper Corp. in Milford, NJ for many years before retiring. Frank was a former member of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Son of the late Joseph and Clara Horvath Gelegonya, Franks first wife Mary J. Gelegonya passed away in 1960 after 22 years of marriage. His second wife, Alma C. Nagy Gelegonya passed away in January of this year after 35 years of marriage. Frank is survived by his daughter Patricia J. Konczyk of Southampton, NJ, his sons Frank, Jr. of Cherry Hill, NJ and Ernest of Wilmington, NC, step son Richard Nagy and his wife Carole of Frenchtown, NJ, his brother Steve Gelegonya of University Place, Washington, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two step-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and four brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 17, 2010 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating. Visitation will be from 10 -11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Frenchtown Cemetery.
