George F. Butler, Sr., 82, of Milford, NJ passed away on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at the Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ
Born September 2, 1927 in Everittstown, NJ, George lived in Milford for over 58 years. He worked as a heavy equipment operator with Sandbrook Construction in Sergeantsville, NJ for many years and also worked on his familys farm for many years. George was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a fan of the NY Jets and an avid NASCAR fan, as well as a long time supporter of his sons racing career. George was also the owner of several race cars over the years, most notably car #5, raced by his brother Oliver. He enjoyed camping and snowmobiling.
Son of the late John and Florence Compton Butler, Georges beloved wife Elizabeth Betty Butler passed away on April 18th of this year. He is survived by two sons George F. Butler, Jr. of Milford and Gary C. Butler and his wife Margaret of Phillipsburg, two daughters Linda Applegate of Stewartsville, NJ and Lori Zangli and her husband Nick of Upper Black Eddy, PA, a brother William of Holland Township and seven grandchildren Amanda, Kristopher, Caitlyn, Cale, Allyson, Jack and Emma.
He was predeceased by two brothers Oliver and John Butler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 13, 2010 at 10 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ with Pastor Ozzie Pursell officiating. Interment will follow in Frenchtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 8 PM at the funeral home.
