George Mazur, 83, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at his home. Born October 5, 1941, George grew up in Edison, NJ and lived in Metuchen, NJ, before moving to Alexandria Township in 1978. He graduated from Perth Amboy Vocational and Technical School. George worked as a telecommunications technician for Blair Park Services in Horsham, PA, for over 10 years. Prior to that, he worked for Roosevelt Sales, a horse and tack shop in Edison, NJ and for the Middlesex Water Department. After his retirement, George took a job with the State of New Jersey to take care of Voorhees State Park. He enjoyed meeting all the people who visited the park. George was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved hunting and fishing. George was an honorary member of the Methol Hunting Club in New York State, which he enjoyed going to on the weekends to have fun with the guys. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, known as Pop Pop, who will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank everyone who has been through this journey with them and dad. Son of the late George and Elizabeth (Zsegnyan) Mazur, George is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Anna (D’Alessio) Mazur, his two sons George Mazur and his companion MaryJo and Michael Mazur and his wife Kimberlee, his daughter Deborah “Debbie” Kusior and her husband Steve, his brother Gerald Mazur, his four grandchildren Stephen, Christine, Cassandra, and Lawrence, his three great-grandchildren Levi, Annabel, and Eloise, and his best friend since they were 13 years old, Frank Della Pietro and his wife Terry. A Celebration of George’s Life will be held in 2025 at his home in Alexandria Township (date to follow). Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
