George P. Wentzel, 64, of Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 14, 2011 at the Hospice House of the VNA at St. Lukes in Lower Saucon Township, PA.
Born August 3, 1946, in Reading, PA, George lived in Upper Black Eddy for many years. He served in the US Marine Corps.. He worked at Penn Engineering in Danboro, PA for many years. George enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time with his special nephew, Billy. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.
Son of the late George and Jane Griffith Wentzel, George is survived by his beloved wife Jane M. Murray Wentzel, with whom he just celebrated his 41st wedding aniverary on Monday June 13th. He is also survived by a brother Roger DeWald, five nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by his nephew Billy Crotsley, who passed away in 2005.
Funeral services will be held on Friday June 17, 2011 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ, with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating. Interment will follow in Milford Union Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Friday from 10 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
