Gerald Schwartz, 69, of Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at his home.
Born March 31, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA, Gerald lived in Upper Black Eddy for over 45 years. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Topeka of the 7th Fleet during the Vietnam War, from 1959 to 1963. He was a teacher at the Upper Bucks Vocational Technical School in Perkasie, PA and also worked at Doylestown Electric and Fraters Electric in Doylestown for many years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Ottsville, PA and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Bridgeton Gun Club. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, antiquing and flea markets.
Son of the late Matthew and Dorothy (Hermely) Schwartz, Gerald is survived by his daughters Johanna Davis of Upper Black Eddy, PA, Marcia Stastny of Alpha, NJ, Marietta Wolek of Bloomsbury, NJ, brothers Matthew Schwartz and Curt Eggart, sisters Johanna Long and Dorothy Way, and four grandchildren. His loving wife of 43 years, Etta Mae (Hobbs) Schwartz passed away in November of 2010.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Saint John the Baptist R.C. Church in Ottsville, PA 18942
