Gretel Lyn Belke, 52, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at her home. She was a generous, funny, talented woman. She loved her kids deeply, spoiled her nineteen nephews and nieces, and protected her siblings in more ways than one.
Born June 14, 1972 in Easton, PA, Gretel graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in Delmar, NY. She worked as an orthodontist assistant at My Orthodontist in Greensboro, NC and has worked in the orthodontics field for many years. Gretel was an artist, especially painting with oil and water colors. She also enjoyed felting and had her own felting business called Follow the Crumbs. Gretel was an avid reader. A strong Christian, she was an active member of the Kings Cross Church in Greensboro, NC.
Gretel is survived by her parents Carl Belke, Jr. and Lysanne (Murdoch) Belke, her son Chandler Hurych and his wife Katherine, her daughter Heide Belke, maternal grandmother Barbara Ann Murdoch, her five sisters Stephann McDearmon and her husband Greg, Erin Hoak and her husband Aaron, Johanna Dawson and her husband Michael, Megan Barr and her husband Adam, Katryn Kombe and her husband Sydney, and her brother Luke Belke. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Guy Murdoch, her paternal grandfather Carl Belke, Sr., and her paternal grandmother Merle Yates Belke.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM. Interment will be held at the Neshaminy Warwick Cemetery in Warminster, PA.
