Dr. Harvey Beebe, Jr., 83, of Little York, Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Thursday October 21, 2010 at Easton Hospital.
Born July 25, 1927 in Pemberton, NJ, Harvey most recently lived in Little York, Alexandria Township, NJ. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the original commissioning crew of the carrier USS Midway, served as executive officer aboard the destroyer USS Etlah and he was aboard the USS Missouri when the Japanese surrendered in WWII. Harvey graduated from Trenton State College and earned a Masters degree and Ph.D. from Oxford Graduate School in England. He worked as a captain and pilot of 747s for Pan American Airways for 32 years before retiring in 1987.
Harvey was a member of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Phillipsburg, NJ and the American Legion Post 11 in Mt. Holly, NJ.
Son of the late Harvey and Georgiana Coles Beebe, Sr., Harvey is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jane Albright Beebe, two sons, Steven of Alexandria Township, NJ and Eric and his wife Maggie of Springtown, PA, two sisters, Doris Harris and Laura Frappoli, both of Mt. Holly, NJ and four grandchildren Nathaniel, Joshua, Zachary, and Jacob. He was predeceased by a sister Rachel Thomulka.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 25, 2010 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
