Harvey Samuel Search, 87, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Sunday December 30, 2012 at the Lopatcong Care Center in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born July 25, 1925 in Kingwood Township, NJ, Harvey was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County. He graduated from Frenchtown High School. Harvey was a veteran of WWII. He served in the Merchant Marines / U.S. Coast Guard and was on loan to the U.S. National Guard from 1945 to 1947. During his years of service, he visited ports of call around the world including Greece, Italy, Egypt and Panama. Harvey married his beloved wife, Pauline Burd Search on October 3, 1948. Harvey was a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer and worked for Jersey Central Power and Light Co., at the Gilbert Station, in Holland Township, NJ for over 50 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 113 in Frenchtown, NJ and a member of the Holland Twp. Senior Citizens.

Son of the late Ester and Raymond Search, Harvey is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Pauline Burd Search, two daughters Melissa Schaare of Lebanon, NJ and Melanie Berstler of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and three grandchildren Sarah Leigh Schaare, Elizabeth Berstler and Graham Berstler.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 11 AM at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown, NJ with the Reverend John Potter officiating. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
