Helen Chobin, 84, of Alexandria Township passed away on Sunday December 26,2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ

Born November 27, 1926 in Jersey City, NJ Helen moved to Alexandria Township with her family when she was five years old becoming a life long resident. In 1945 she married her late husband Basil Chobin and they started a family.

She was a homemaker who loved caring for her family and she will be dearly missed by everyone who loved her. Helen was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Hunterdon County and a former Welfare director for Alexandria Township. She was a life long member of Saint Edward the Confessor R.C. Church in Milford, NJ where she also taught CCD classes. She enjoyed gardening, growing both flowers and vegetables.

Helen is survived by her son Michael Chobin and his wife Jennifer of Milford, NJ. Daughters; Cynthia Bakelaar and fiance Randall Smith of Milford, NJ. , Kelly Ohl and husband John of Jersey City, NJ. Six Grandchildren Michael Jr., Melissa , Jennifer Amy, Amanda, Donnie and Ryan, four Great grandchildren Michael III, Madison, Jaydn and Breadyn and three step grandchildren Sabrina, Eric and Jenny Lynn. Helen is predeceased by her son Basil Jr., her brother John and two sisters Ann and Betty.

Funeral services will be held on Friday December 31,2010 at 10:00 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ with Father Chris Kaczynski of Saint Edward the Confessor R.C. Church officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Phillip and James Cemetery in Phillipsburg, NJ. Visitation will be on Thursday December 30,2010 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
