Irene Jones, 89, of Pittstown, Alexandria Township, NJ passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the home of her daughter, with whom she lived.

Born March 7, 1924 in Lansford, PA, Irene lived in Philadelphia, PA for many years. She also lived in Glen Gardner, NJ before moving to Pittstown, NJ five years ago. She was a homemaker. Irene enjoyed reading, playing cards and especially loved spending time with her family. Irene volunteered with the A.R.C. in Philadelphia, PA for many years. She was a member of the YMCA Senior Center in Bunneville, NJ.

Daughter of the late John and Anna (Hreha) Sabol, Irene is survived by her daughter Elizabeth "Libby" Looby and her husband Robert of Pittstown, NJ, her son John L. Jones and his wife Anne of Mertztown, PA, five granddaughters Megan Looby, Caitlin Looby, Theresa Haak, Beth Jones and Lauren Wenzel and great-granddaughter Emily Beth Haak. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Leslie E. Jones (1984), her son Robert S. Jones (2012) and her three brothers and four sisters.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 12 noon at Sky-View Memorial Park, 108 Lafayette Avenue (Rt. 54), Hometown, PA 18252 with Pastor Ronald Smith officiating. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 9-10 AM, at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ.
