J. Warren Elky, 62, of Upper Black Eddy, PA passed away on Saturday February 26, 2011 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.
Born February 27, 1948 in Phillipsburg, NJ, Warren was a life long resident of Upper Black Eddy, PA. He graduated from Palisades High School in 1966 and he graduated from Alfred College in New York State with an Associates degree in horticulture. Warren served in the Navy aboard the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Jonel Flower Shop in Upper Black Eddy for 20 years. He then worked at Deep Run Packing in Bucks County, PA, Johanna Farms in Flemington, NJ and Lehigh Valley Dairy in Landsdale, PA. Most recently, Warren worked with his son at Indian Rock Electrical Co. in Upper Black Eddy, PA and Fat Daddys Southern Bar-B-Q in Easton, PA.
Son of the late John and Eleanor Sellers Elky, Warrens beloved wife, Christine Ann Marie Elky passed away in 2002. He is survived by his son Michael W. Elky of Upper Black Eddy, PA, his sister Pamela T. Elky of Milford, NJ, two brothers Matthew E. Elky of Maryland and Gilbert R. Elky of Milford, NJ and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ with the Reverend William Tex Culton officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Alexandria Township, NJ. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, from 12 1 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
