Jan D. Kovacs Obituary

Jan D. Kovacs, 63, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Friday March 29, 2013 at her home.

Born June 9, 1949 in Plainfield, NJ, Jan lived in Carteret, NJ before moving to Holland Township in 1988. She graduated from the Newark State Teachers College, now known as Kean University in 1971. She was a teacher at the Sayerville Junior High School in Sayerville, NJ for five years before teaching at the Holland Township School for twenty three years. Jan taught English and Language Arts and she ran the Drama Club at the Holland Township School. She retired in 2012. Jan loved the beach, especially near her second home in Ft. Myers, FL. She also enjoyed going to Disney World, where her son and future daughter in law both work. Jan will be dearly missed by her loving family, dear friends and her community.

Jan was a member of St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church in Milford, NJ.

Daughter of the late James and Anne (Skripko) Sabo, Jan is survived by her beloved husband of thirty nine years, Andrew W. Kovacs, her son Thomas A. Kovacs and his fianc Jenny of Orlando, FL, her daughter Joy A. Kovacs of Portland, OR and her sister Barbara Domanic of Pt. Pleasant, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2013 at 10 AM at St. Edward the Confessor Churchs Parish Center, across the street from the church, on Rt. 519 in Milford, NJ.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 212 East Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 (americanheart.org)
