Joan B. Pursell Obituary

Joan B. Pursell, 79, of Upper Black Eddy, PA passed away on Monday May 28, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born August 13, 1932 in Upper Black Eddy, Joan was a lifelong resident there. She graduated from Palisades High School. She worked at the Homestead General Store in Upper Black Eddy and was a homemaker. Most importantly, Joans family was her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her beloved family and many friends.

Joan was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ in Riegelsville, PA.

Daughter of the late Charles and Della Swope Franklin, Joans husband, Earl Pursell, passed away in 1997. She is survived by her two sons Brian K. Pursell of Dublin, PA and Christopher W. Pursell and his wife Stacy of Upper Black Eddy, PA, her daughter Cynthia L. Kania and her husband Scott of Raubsville, PA, two brothers Paul Franklin of Flemington, NJ and Neil Franklin of North Wales, PA, two sisters Sandy Hummer of Holland Township, NJ and Nancy Verity of Pittstown, NJ and her four grandchildren Jeffrey and Jonathan Pursell and Keith and Logan Bean.

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 1, 2012 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. Interment will follow in the Upper Tinicum Cemetery, Upper Black Eddy, PA. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7 9 PM at the funeral home.
