John "Lead" Transue Obituary

John G. Lead Transue, 76, of Annandale, Clinton Township, NJ, passed away on Monday December 6, 2010 at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA.

Born August 9, 1934 in Hampton, NJ, John lived there for most of his life before moving to Annandale over 25 years ago. John was a member of the first group inducted into the North Hunterdon High School Athletic Hall of Fame for football and he was an avid sports fan. He was the owner of J.T. Automotive in Annandale, NJ for many years, prior to that was employed by Clinton Ford in Clinton, NJ. John enjoyed auto racing and raced at Flemington Speedway for many years.

Son of the late Alden D. and Helen C. Babish Transue, John is survived by his family, Barbara T. Hamberger and her son William T. Hamberger, both of Upper Black Eddy, PA. He is also survived by many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday evening December 9, 2010 at 8:00 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. Visitation will be from 7 8 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Easton Hospice, 3421 Nightingale Drive, Easton, PA 18045.
