Joseph I. Bishop, 85, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born May 15, 1939 in Peoria, IL, Joe grew up in West Milford, NJ, and lived in Phoenixville, PA for most of his adult life before settling in Holland Township, NJ in 2018. He graduated from Butler High School, and received a bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Joe worked as a salesman for Parker-Hannifin in Cleveland, Ohio before starting his own business, Hydromotion, Inc. in Spring City, PA, from which he ultimately retired. He was an avid snow skier and water skier who loved boating. Joe enjoyed playing tennis, hiking, and gardening. He loved his hot rods and had many of them as a younger man. Joe enjoyed vacationing with his family at Schroon Lake, NY. He was an amazing grandfather who adored his grandchildren, and never met a dog he didn’t love. His light shone brightly wherever he went. He was friendly with everyone in his communities.

Son of the late Joseph L. and Luella “Willa” (Colby) Bishop, Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Linda S. (Pulis) Bishop, his Labradoodle, Phoebe, his daughter Karen L. Ambrogi of Kissimmee, FL, his former son-in-law Christopher Ambrogi of Downingtown, PA, his son Joseph P. Bishop and his wife Rosanne of Stowe, PA, his son-in-law Gregory Padley and his wife Mary Lynne of Burnsville, MN, his daughter-in-law Marci Nardone and her husband Dave of Alexandria Township, NJ, his sister-in-law Gail Bishop of West Milford, NJ, and his eleven beloved grandchildren. Joe was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth (Betty) C. Bishop and brother Phillip Bishop.

Services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
