Joseph Felix Obituary

Joseph Felix, 84, of Kingwood Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2010 at Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park, NJ after a long illness.

Born August 23, 1925 in Logans Ferry, PA, he was a son of the late Metro and Rosalia Hryckwian Felix.

Joe served in the Fourth Marine Division during World War II and fought in Iwo Jima and Saipan. He returned to the Marine Corps during the Korean War and served stateside training recruits. After the war, he worked in maintenance and later became supervisor at the Riegel Paper Corp. in Milford, NJ and Riegelsville, NJ, and then at James River Corp. in Berlin, NH.

He was a member of the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 113 and was a member of Orion Lodge #56 F and AM in Frenchtown. He also served on the Kingwood Township Board of Adjustment.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife Anne Ogrodnik Felix; son Philip Felix of Kingwood Township, NJ; daughter Mary Felix of Bethlehem, PA; two sisters Helen Haney and Patricia Felix, both of Bethlehem, PA; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, John Felix and George Felix.

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
