Joseph M. Moll, Jr., 88, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Sunday August 22, 2010 at Abington Manor in Easton, PA surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 20, 1922 in Newark, NJ, Joseph lived in Holland Township, NJ for many years. He served in the US Navy and was a veteran of WWII. He served mainly in the Pacific Theatre and earned the Silver Star for his bravery as well as several bronze stars and two purple hearts. Joseph was proud to have been aboard the USS Nicholas, accompanying the USS Missouri during the formal surrender ceremony of the Imperial Japanese Forces on September 2, 1945. Joseph worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 19 in Allentown, PA for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Glen Gardner VFW, Frenchtown American Legion, Rieglesville American Legion, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Farmer Sportsmans Club in Holland Township. He enjoyed the Jersey Shore, deep sea fishing and boating. Joe will be dearly missed by his loving family.

Son of the late Joseph and Irene Moll, Sr., Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Virginia S. Hillard Moll, two sons Joseph M. Moll, III and his wife Donna of Easton, PA and Jon E. Moll of Holland Township, NJ, a brother James Moll of Mountain Lake, NJ and two grandchildren Joseph IV and Amber. He was predeceased by his brother Jack Moll.

Funeral services with military honors will be held on Thursday August 26, 2010 at 12:30 PM at Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 9 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ.
