Julius "Bill" Knispel, Jr. Obituary

Julius W. “Bill” Knispel, Jr., 77, of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born May 2, 1948, in Raritan Township, NJ, Bill was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, NJ.  His early years were spent on the family dairy farm in Franklin Township, owned by his Uncle August Knispel, and raising pheasants with his father, Julius Knispel Sr.. Farming was not just his occupation, but a way of life. For most of his years, he worked at Tri-Dale Farm in Franklin Township. He also spent time working at Lipton Tea in Flemington, NJ. Bill took great pride in his work and had a deep connection to the land.

Bill was a fan of sports and could be counted to be watching whatever games were on TV.  An avid outdoorsman, Bill especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He found joy in simple pleasures and time spent in nature. He was also a bowler and at one time participated in a bowling league in the Washington, NJ area. In addition, he enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the Hunterdon County Pool League.

Above all, Bill cherished his family. He especially loved spending time outdoors with his grandsons, creating lasting memories with those he held closest.

Son of the late Julius W. Knispel, Sr. and Edith (Bidewell), Bill is survived by his two grandsons Devin and Ethan, and his daughter-in-law, Christina Knispel.  He was predeceased by his two sons Julius "Billy," and Kevin.

Funeral services will be private.  Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
