Katherine R. Smith, 100, of Holland Township, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, PA.

Born on February 27, 1909 in Bloomsbury, NJ, Katherine had lived in Tatamy, PA and Bloomsbury, NJ before moving to Holland Township 40 years ago. She had worked at the George F. Hellick Coffee Co. in Easton, PA many years ago and she was a homemaker. Katherine was a former member of the Bloomsbury Methodist Church and a current member of the Alexandria First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant. She was a also a member of the Riegel Ridge Seniors, the Kitchenairs kitchen band and she was membership chairperson for many years at the Riegel Ridge Senior Center. She loved gardening, bird watching and flowers. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her beloved family.

Daughter of the late Mahlon and Elizabeth Sinclair Randels, Katherine was predeceased by her beloved husband H. Erwin Smith who passed away in 1975. She is survived by two daughters Barbara J. Smith and her husband OliverBud of Lopatcong Township and Carol S. Lowe and her husband Jack of Punta Gorda, FL, three grandchildren Sandra Kuhns, Debra Barbera, and Jaclyn Cherry, four great grandchildren Lindsey VanBilliard, Brittany Barbera, Brandy Barbera and Spenser Barbera and three great, great grandchildren Sarah, Joshua and Audrey Van Billiard. Katherine was predeceased by her brother Earl Randels and five sisters Ruth Apgar, Myrtle Bachman, Lula Kuntz, Ella Kaiser and Blanche Messinger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 20, 2010 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. Interment will follow in Bloomsbury Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.
