Kenneth “Ken” David Ventre, Sr., 83, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his home.
Born September 10, 1942, in Newark, NJ, Ken grew up in Kenilworth and later lived in Millburn before moving to Holland Township in 2018. He graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in Springfield, NJ.
Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. Early in his career, he worked as a truck driver before joining the Township of Millburn, where he dedicated over 30 years of service as a Senior Equipment Operator. In that role, he also served many years as a respected shop steward.
An avid outdoorsman, Ken especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. A devoted New York Giants fan, he rarely missed a game. Ken will be remembered for his strong work ethic, great sense of humor, his love for the outdoors, and the deep devotion he had to his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Son of the late Michael and Patricia (Levesque) Ventre, Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Diane (Pieper) Ventre, his son Kenneth Ventre, Jr. and his wife Rachel, his daughter Kathryn “Kate” Tartaglia and her husband Daniel, his brother Michael Ventre, and his grandson Jackson. He was predeceased by his sister Carol Wilson.
Services will be private. Interment, with military honors, will be held at Milford Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
