Kevin L. Reilly, 39, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his residence in Roanoke, VA.
Kevin was born Wednesday, January 30, 1985, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ, to Richard C. and Cynthia L. Reilly. Kevin grew up in Pittstown, NJ (Hunterdon County) and attended Alexandria TWP school district, graduating from Delaware Valley Regional High School (Frenchtown, NJ) in 2003. Loved by many and popular amongst his peers, Kevin was an exceptional student and starting varsity basketball player. Kevin enjoyed participating in recreational and organized school sports (basketball, football, golf), spending time with friends and family, and participating in youth group activities and mission trips through the Alexandria First Presbyterian Church (Milford, NJ). After graduating high school with academic honors, Kevin went on to attend and graduate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, widely known as Virginia Tech, home of the Hokies, with a BA in Psychology. Kevin lived by the Virginia Tech motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), and used his degree to later serve the children of the Autism community in Roanoke, VA, as a Behavioral Specialist at the BRAAC School (Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center). Throughout his lifetime, Kevin showed a gift and passion for helping children.
Kevin is survived by his exceptionally loving and dedicated parents, Richard and Cynthia Reilly of Roanoke, VA (Pittstown, NJ), his older brother and sister, COL Sean C Reilly, MD (US Army Medicine- Critical Care) and Susanne C Reilly (NJ); and sister-in-law, Mayland C Reilly (Sean Reilly). Kevin is also survived by the nephews and nieces whom he greatly cherished (and tended to tease with all his love), Clark Reilly (Germany), Pete Reilly (Roanoke, VA), MJ Reilly (Boston, MA), and Janicia "Jay" Reilly (Roanoke, VA). Kevin is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family, whom he greatly loved and who made an incredible impact on the happiness he experienced in his lifetime.
A service of remembrance was held Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in Roanoke, VA. Kevin's family will lay him to rest with committal prayers at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Hunterdon Co., New Jersey, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, following a 2:00 pm service at Alexandria First Presbyterian Church, 141 Little York Mount Pleasant Road, Milford, NJ08848.
