Kimberle “Kym” M. Spence, 60, of Levittown, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Ottsville, PA, after a courageous battle with illness.
Born October 22, 1964, in Trenton, NJ, Kym spent much of her early life in New Egypt and Trenton before settling in Levittown. She graduated from Mercer County Community College with an LPN and dedicated her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse. For over 30 years, she worked alongside Dr. John Shelmet, specializing in diabetes care, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and expertise. Most recently, she continued her nursing career in primary care with Dr. Geetha Srinivasan.
Kym’s heart was as big as her smile. She was a passionate supporter of Boxer Rescue and adored her beloved dogs, Lucky and Ruby. She cherished vacations with family, especially with her cousin Jackie Hale and Jackie’s family—Micki, Melissa, Mere, and Kate—whose love and support surrounded her throughout her life and most especially during her recent illness. Kym found immeasurable joy in her nephew, Carter Watson, whom she treasured and supported in every way she could.
Known for her generous spirit, Kym loved racing, family gatherings, and any celebration that allowed her to give to others. She had a special gift for making people feel loved through thoughtful acts and heartfelt presents.
Kym’s legacy of kindness, devotion, and selflessness will live on in the many lives she touched.
Daughter of the late Jameson W. Spence and Sharon (Ossmann) Drews, Kym is survived by her lifetime best friend Meg Sullivan, her cousin and closest friend Jacqueline Hale and her husband Gene, her two brothers Russell Collings and his wife Sherry and Jameson Spence and his wife Bridget, her step-brother, with whom she grew up, Mike Reed and his wife Glenda, three maternal aunts, one uncle, many other step-siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Khristine Raywood.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 6-8 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Frenchtown Cemetery in Frenchtown, NJ.
