Laurel Scheetz Obituary

Laurel Lee Scheetz, 72, of Kintnersville, Durham Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Born January 23, 1954, in Phillipsburg, NJ, Laurel lived for many years in Upper Black Eddy, PA, before settling in Kintnersville in 1986. She was a 1971 graduate of Palisades High School and also attended Bucks County Community College.

Laurel was devoted to her family and dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a homemaker who also worked as a private nanny, nurturing and guiding children with her warmth and gentle spirit. After retiring, she lovingly cared for her four grandsons, a role she treasured deeply and embraced with joy.

A passionate sports fan, Laurel was an avid supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles, cheering them on through every season. She also loved to dance and brought energy and excitement wherever she went. Laurel always had a radiant smile, spreading love and what she affectionately called her special energy — her “bling.”

Family meant everything to Laurel. She was the most loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and her presence filled every room with warmth and light. Her kindness, strength, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Daughter of the late Richard and Joyce (Pursell) Minder, Laurel is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert E. Scheetz, her son Jeremy Scheetz and his wife Holly, her daughter Heidi Lee Scheetz and her fiance Felix, her sister Chrisse Lynne Fitz, and her four grandsons Gunner, Levi, Lincoln, and Treyton.  She was predeceased by her two brothers Michael Minder and Richard Craig Minder, and her brother-in-law Dwayne Fitz.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 10 AM to 12 PM, at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ, followed by a funeral service at 12 PM, with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating.  Interment will follow at the Upper Tinicum Cemetery in Tinicum Township, PA.
