Lawrence Samuel Harris, Jr., 80, of Kingwood Township, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at his home. 

Born May 13, 1944 in West Orange, NJ, Lawrence lived in Roselle Park, NJ before moving to Kingwood Township in 1973.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa.  Lawrence worked as a Director of Management Information Systems at the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital for 25 years, until his retirement.  He also worked part-time for the United States Postal Service in Flemington, NJ, the Hunterdon County Democrat, Hopewell Motor Imports, and Ditschman Ford.  Lawrence was passionate about antique motorcycles and cars and he loved to travel.  He was member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.   Most of all, Lawrence was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.   

Son of the late Lawrence Samuel Harris, Sr. and Vida Wray (Gould) Harris, Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Joan Doreen Harris, his son Lawrence Samuel Harris, III and his wife Yumiko, his daughter Robin Daum and her husband Darryl, his brother David Harris, his sister Gwyneth Ruppert, and his three grandchildren Austin, Riona, and Kai. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 9 Red Schoolhouse Road, Lebanon, NJ.  Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
