Lois J. Mularchuk, 90, of Nazareth, PA, formerly of Holland Township, NJ, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Kirkland Village in Bethlehem, PA.
Lois was born May 11, 1934 in Upper Black Eddy, PA. She graduated from Palisades High School in 1952, where she played short-stop on her softball team. Lois also enjoyed playing piano and singing in the church choir. Lois was employed at the Riegel Paper Mill, along with many of her family members, from 1952 until she had her first born in 1956.
After Lois and Fred were married in 1954, they moved into the home they built in Holland Township where they lived for many years. Lois loved being in the kitchen, making homemade meals and baked goods from old family recipes, such as pierogies, stuffed cabbage and kiffles. Favorite pastimes included jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, sewing, needlework, and crocheting afghans for loved ones and friends. Lois especially loved spending time with her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and neighbor, she was always known for caring for others and helping those in need. Lois was a lifetime and very active member of the Upper Tinicum Lutheran Church and the senior group at Riegel Ridge. Lois sang in the church choir as well as participating in many church groups and activities.
Daughter of the late Howard and Grace (Miller) Weaver, Lois is survived by her two sons Stephen F. Mularchuk and his wife Terri of Pensacola, FL and Daniel Mularchuk of Easton, PA, her daughter Sharon Thierry and her husband Dan of Nazareth, PA, her brother Robert Miller of Holland Township, NJ, her five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred Mularchuk in 2012 and her brother Larry Lee Weaver.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Reverend William “Tex” Culton officiating. Interment will follow at the Upper Tinicum Cemetery, 188 Upper Tinicum Church Road, Erwinna, PA 18972.
