Lois A. Stopp, 84, of Mt. Bethel, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her home.
Born March 24, 1941, in Martins Creek, PA, Lois was a 1959 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School. She was a resident of Mt. Bethel for the past 64 years, where she built a life filled with family, friendship, and community.
Lois worked in accounts receivable for Instrument Specialties in Delaware Water Gap, PA, before her retirement. Outside of work, she lived life to the fullest—she enjoyed playing cards, traveling, playing racquetball, and dancing with her friends. A lifelong horse enthusiast, Lois was a founding member of the Cloverleaf Saddle Club in Mt. Bethel, PA. She was also dedicated to helping others, volunteering her time with Meals on Wheels.
A lifetime member of the GFWC Bangor Women’s Club, Lois took great pride in giving back to her community and fostering lasting friendships through her involvement.
Daughter of the late Lester and Emma (Reed) Rutt, Lois is survived by her daughter Nicole (Stopp) Dutt and her husband Jeremy of Mt. Bethel, PA, her grandchildren Mackenzie Dutt, Myles Dutt, and Mallory Dutt, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers Lester Rutt, Jr., Clayton Rutt, and Robert Sherwood Rutt, and her two sisters Gladys Rutt Pysher and Betty Rutt Parr.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
