Louise Martha Holland Obituary

Louise Martha (Ruth) Holland was born on January 14, 1923 in West Conshohocken, PA and passed away peacefully with her family by her side, after a long illness on June 24, 2012. Her parents, William Henry Ruth and Jeanne Marie (Doriot) Ruth, six brothers and eight sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband, William Thomas Holland, Sr. of seventy years, her sister, Doris Holland, children William Thomas Holland, Jr., Sally (Tom) Walker, Thomas (Gwynne) Holland, Polly Holland, twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and caregivers Priscilla Tinsman and Anna Mellert.

She graduated from West Conshohocken High School in 1941, worked at Tyson Shirt Factory, married in 1942 and remained at home to raise their four children. During the next three decades she was a caregiver for several people. Louise was a member of the Living Hope Ministries (formerly Frenchtown Baptist Church) for fifty-eight years, where she served in many capacities: as a Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, Bible School Teacher, and Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Frenchtown Senior Citizens and served as president during 2003-2004. For years she hosted a crochet club which met monthly at her home. Louise enjoyed crocheting, knitting, tatting, cross stitch, needlepoint, quilting and making pottery. She made countless handicrafts during her lifetime and showered them amongst her family and friends. She cherished her family, who she devoted her love, caring and time and who cherished her in return.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Living Hope Ministries, 35 Second Street, Frenchtown, NJ on July 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM by Pastor Ozzie Pursell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Living Hope Ministries or The Gideon Bible Institute. Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
