Luz G. Pons, 86, of Bridgeton Township, Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at her home. 

Born May 29, 1938 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Luz moved to New Jersey in 1968.  She lived mostly in Lakewood, NJ before moving to Upper Black Eddy, PA 30 years ago.  Luz worked as a machine operator for Rhone-Poulenc Inc. in Lakewood, NJ, for over 17 years.  She volunteered her time at the Flemington Area Food Pantry for 17 years.  Luz was of Catholic faith.  She enjoyed cooking empanadas and flan, especially for others.  Luz also loved going to casinos.   

Daughter of the late Felix Graveran and Ermenegilda Piloto, Luz is survived by her daughter Yoama Pons and her husband Kevin Smith of Upper Black Eddy, PA, her grandchildren Christina Marie Bethman and Thomas Eugene Bethman, IV, and her dog Obi.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband Juan Pons in 2002, and her many brothers and sisters. 

A Celebration of Life Party will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Luz’s residence.  Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford NJ.
