Marie T. Guthier, 84, of Nockamixon Township, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at her home.  

Born September 9, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA, Marie lived in Hatboro, PA before moving to Coppersburg, PA in 1976, where she lived until retirement when she relocated to her River home in Montague, NJ. Marie graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School in 1957 and then married Bill Guthier on November 7, 1959. Marie and Bill were married for 60 years. In her early years she worked for Asplundh Tree Company until she became a homemaker and a caregiver to her two daughters and son. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, bird watching, and listening to Elvis.  Marie was also an avid bowler in her younger years and played in leagues. She loved to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune each night with her children and grandsons. Marie loved spending time with her family and grand pets each day. Most of all, she loved making her famous pierogies with her family on Christmas each year. 

Daughter of the late John and Ann McDonnell Cwikla. Marie is survived by her son William F. Guthier, III and his wife Jaime, her brother Joseph Cwikla, her sister Ann Schultz, and her two grandsons William F. Guthier, IV and Bryce R. Guthier.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband William F. Guthier, Jr. in 2019, her two daughters Laurie Guthier and Ann Marie Guthier, and her brother John Cwikla.  

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ.  A Celebration of Marie’s Life will follow at 11 AM, with Pastor Doug Henning officiating.  Interment will be held at a later date at the Sunset Memorial Park in Huntington Valley, PA.
