Marjorie S. Fargo Obituary

Marjorie S. Fargo, 88, of Frenchtown, NJ passed away on Sunday June 28, 2009 at her home.

Born April 15, 1921 in Frenchtown, Marjorie was a life long resident. She graduated from Frenchtown High School and Ryder College in Trenton, NJ. She was 1 of 184 students to receive a Bachelor of Science and Commerce. She worked as a secretary for the State of New Jersey Department of Education in Trenton for over 30 years and was a member of Future Teachers of America. Marjorie retired in 1976. She was very active in the Frenchtown United Methodist Church and the Frenchtown Baptist Church and had played the organ at both churches for many years. She taught Sunday school at the Frenchtown United Methodist Church for 35 years and supported the churchs Christmas Bizarre every year by donating her many handmade crafts and crocheting. She was a member of the Helping Hands Club at the Frenchtown United Methodist Church, Frenchtown Senior Citizens Club and the Riegel Ridge Senior Citizens Club. She was the caretaker for her sister, Marion Fargo as well as her sister Edith Bryan and her husband, Reverend Alison Bryan.

Daughter of the late Clarence and Lottie Sinclair Fargo, Marjorie is survived by her sister Marion Fargo of Frenchtown, NJ. She was predeceased by her other sister, Edith Fargo Bryan, who passed away in 2006.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 2, 2009 at 11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. Visitation will be held from 10 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Frenchtown Cemetery.
