Mary P. Petro, 76, of Milford, NJ, passed away on Sunday March 3, 2013 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born December 5, 1936 in Luzerne PA, Mary was a graduate of Kingston High School in Kingston, PA. She lived most of her life in Milford, NJ with her beloved husband the late Paul Petro, Sr. ( 2012) to whom she wed in 1960. She was a homemaker and was employed at the Opdyke Lumber Co. in Frenchtown, NJ as secretary for many years. Mary was a member of Saint Edward the Confessor R.C. Church in Milford, NJ , she loved to dance the "Jitterbug" with her husband, it was a passion they both shared and she spoke of dancing just days before her passing. Mary enjoyed getting together with her "Card Club Group" to play cards with the girls which they had done for over 40 years. She was an avid shopper, loved the shore and enjoyed the taste of good chocolate. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Daughter of the late George and Pauline (Evans) Nice Sr., Mary is survived by her daughter Nicole Carr and her husband Eric of Holland Township NJ , three sons Paul Petro, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Bethlehem, PA, Mark Petro and his wife Kathy of Holland Township, NJ and Gregg Petro of Milford, NJ, her brother George Nice and his wife Mary of Shickshinny, PA and six grandchildren Matthew, Leah, Luke, Michelle, Jake, Kylee.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 5,2013 from 5 to 8 PM at the Johnson~Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services will begin with visitation on Wednesday March 6, 2013 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM at St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church, 61 Mill St., Milford, NJ 08848. Interment will follow in Milford Union Cemetery.
